HOME REMEDIES FOR ACIDITY PROBLEMS

Ms.Tabassam noor from Jhansi Uttar Pradesh has sent us an e-mail. She says that she and her husband gets acidity probelm after getting up in the morning. So they had to take digine or antaicde medicine regularly to get relief from acidity. She has requested for some home remedy to control this acidity without using medicines.Ms.Tabassam noor  there is simple remedy, which is very effective too. What you have to do is, after getting up and brushing your teeth drink cucumber juice.

Now a days cucumber is available 365 days in the year. You can take any variant of cucumber, whichever is available in the season. Prepare cucumber juice. Take one glass cucumber juice. Make sure that the juice is not bitter. Normally out of 1000 cucumber very few cucumber is found bitter .
So if it is bitter then it should not be used. Its juice is normally has little sweetish in taste. Drink one glass juice in an empty stomach in the morning. And if you have major problem of acidity then drink one glass of cucmber juice before to sleep also. going Drinkg 1 small glass of around 200 ml. If you follow this remedy then your acidity problem will be solved completely,
you don't have to do anything else. But if you have more severe problem and after using cucumber juice still you have acidity problem then, you have to do one more thing. Along with one glass Cucumber juice, you have to take 1 goose berry and 8 mint leaves. Mix these 3 ingredients. You can grate these things, put it in muscline cloth and remove its juice by pressing.
You can blend it in a mixer and extract the juice. Or you can make juice in a normal juicer. Take 8 mint leaves, 1 goose berry and 1 cucumber. It should be approximately 200 ml juice, otherwise you can increase the quantity of cucumber. If you drink this juice, you will be relieved from the acidity problem. After 7 days however the major acidity probelm you must be having, it will be cured completely.

One more thing you have to do is to find out and keep in mind that why are you getting acidity problem. Acidity comes due to increase of bile level in your digestive system. Why this happens? If you eat lot of non vegetarian food, if you eat tobacco or drink alcohol. You have to keep control on these things. If you eat junk food or fast food then also your digestive system gets disturbed.
Avoid all these things. Eat vegetarian food. Eat green vegetables. Eat Bottle Gourd Eat salads compulsarily with food, then automatically your acidity problem will be controlled. One more simple method is Lemon. In hot water add lemon juice and have it in the evening. With the intake of this, your acidity will be vanished. If you have this acidity problem regularly, what you have to do is take 1 tsp lemon juice in 1 cup hot water and have it 3 times with the gap of 1 hour

Fresh Aloe Vera gel is very much beneficial in acidity. Now a days its juice is also available. Consume 30ml of aloe vera juice along wiyth luke warm water. WHAT IS HYPER-ACIDITY, PRECAUTIONS DURING ACIDITY

What is Hyper-Acidity. PRECAUTIONS DURING ACIDITY
 Its knowns as Acidity & we usually take this problem very lightly whereas we shouldn't. If you are regularly suffering from Acidity then it could be stomach ulcer & many other problems. First of all, let us understand what is Acidity. Acidity- Your stomach is doing excessive production of acids. Due to this heartburn, Chest burn & sometimes vomiting, stomach-ache even not feeling like eating.

So, such type of various problems occurs. Now why does this happen, why excessive acid is getting produced? There are lots of reasons One of the major reason with most of the people is having a pain killer, even if having minor pain. People who take pan killers, that could be a major reason of acidity. Let me tell you , if you are regularly taking pain killers then it could be the reason of stomach ulcer. Second major reason is Smoking.

Its for sure that you will have this problem, either now or may be in another 4-5 years. So, quit smoking. If you are stressed then it could be a reason of acidity. So stay away from stress. Fired and spicy food are the major reason behind acidity. Don't eat deep fried food which is full of fat, when such food will go into your stomach then your stomach will produce more acids to digest that Excessive acid products create reflux problem, acidity problem and hyper-acidity too.

Let me tell you that what food you shouldn't eat when you are suffering from hyper-acidity. I have seen people, they drink soda when suffering from acidity. Don't do this. Why? Because these carbonation drink's bubbles got spread in stomach which pressurise the stomach Which create acid reflux and can increase the problem of acidity. All the cola drinks which contains caffeine are very dangerous in acidity.

People who think that such drink will give them relief instead such drinks will increase their acidity. Reason is, they are very chilled as you take them out from fridge Temporarily you feel chilled and think that you are relieved whereas it increases the problem So, you shouldn't use any carbonated and caffeine contained carbonated drink. Secondly, don't drink coffee

Once or twice you can take it but don't drink it regularly. Caffeine increases acidity and acid reflux. Instead you can take Green tea, Chamomile tea If you will consume them, you will get relief in acidity. Boil some ginger & basil leaves. Don't add milk add honey and drink it as a tea. If you will drink this, it will give you relief in acidity.

One more thing, which you shouldn't consume i.e chocolate. Chocolate is full of caffeine, secondly it contains theobromine & too much of fat. All these things do excessive acid production It will create hyper-acidity and acid reflux. So, don't use chocolate. If you like chocolate very much Then istead of normal chocolate, use dark chocolate and that too in small portion.

As it is less in fat. Similarly as I said don't eat fatty food like spicy and deep fried food. Eating deep fried food means excess fat in stomach which creates excessive acid production. If you like eating fried food then eat shallow fried instead of deep fried. Although taste will be different nominally but then there will be not problem of acidity & hyper-acidity. Home Remedies for HYPER-ACIDITY

Today again we were talking about "Hyper-Acidity" And I had told you about what you shouldn't eat if you are suffering from Acidity & Hyper acidity. Remember one thing, you shouldn't consume citrus fruits. instead you can eat Ripe Banana as it has good amount of potassium. Potassium controls the production of access acid & gives you relief from acidity. You can use Coconut Water, as its also very beneficial in acidity.

Use water melon. Its gives instant relief. If you are suffering from hyper acidity then extract juice of water melon and drink it You will notice instant relief from acidity. Along with this you can follow many small remedies. Cardamom & Clove You can chew them throughout the day or after whatever you eat.

If you will chew either cardamom or clove or both together Then saliva will be made. which will control your acidity. Let me tell you one more remedy which is very beneficial. Take 1 tsp cumin seeds, chew them thoroughly and swallow it. Wait for 10 minutes and then drink 1 cup hot water. You will notice that you will get relief in the problem of acidity.

Use Cinnamon, it works as a natural antacid. If you are suffering from acidity or hyper acidity. Boil 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder in some water Once its prepared as a tea. Drink it 2-3 times in a day You can even take 4 cups of this tea You will notice that your acidity will be completely cured.

Similarly, you can Buttermilk. it works really wonder in the problem of acidity. If you use it in any form If you want to make it really effective then add some roasted cumin seed powder, black pepper powder 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds powder, some coriander leaves and some mint leaves Mix them all in a blender and prepare your buttermilk You can drink up to 2-3 glass in a day if you are suffering from major acidity.

And you will notice that your acidity will be cured. You can even use Indian Jaggery Its basically a dark brown colour jagery which contains no chemicals. So, if you will eat a small portion of jaggery after having food As soon this jaggery reaches to our digestive system Its effects alkaline & it helps to control acidity.

But if you are suffering from diabetes then you shouldn't do this remedy. Instead you can use Gooseberry powder. Take it with hot water. It has good amount of Vitamin C Which is very helpful to heal stomach's injury Similarly, Apple Cider Vinegar has its alkalising effects. Take raw and unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix 1 tsp in 1 cup of water & consume it. This will give you relief in acidity. Either you can chew some Bail leaves or you can boil some leaves to make its tea. Consume this tea, as it will give you relief as well. Mix Coriander Seeds, cumin Seeds & Fennel Seeds and make their powder. Fresh Aloe Vera gel is very much beneficial in acidity. Now a days its juice is also available. Consume 30ml of aloe vera juice along wiyth luke warm water. And you will notice that you will get relief in acidity and hyper acidity. Don't take excess tea, coffee as they increases acidity. Make sure you had your dinner 2 hours prior before sleeping. After dinner take a walk for at least 500 steps.

First remedy is Goat Milk" if you will use it. It is very much beneficial in parkinson disease. If you will regularly consume goat milk 2-3 times in a day. These patients should eat non cooked food for 10 days.  Take vegetables and fruits. wash them and have them. If you are drinking water with the glass then water will flow out from the sides of your mouth Due to that light shivering in the mouth , water start flowing from the sides of the mouth.

Similarly, sometimes you voice start shivering. It seems that you are stammering. Speed of your for eating food that too become slow if you are suffering from parkinson. Patient of parkinson likes to sit quite and alone. They have lost of sleep and even have constipation at times. Patient of parkinson are unable to stand straight and can't stand for a period of time. They usually stand with a little bend in their entire body.

They even have problem while walking They reflection and power of thinking and talking become slow. How to gain muscles very easy and natural health care tip

One of our viewer Mr.Tariq from Ghaziabad, he wants to gain muscles. For that he had joined gym . he's also asked to take various types of protein powders. But he doesn't want to use them asking for any remedies to gain muscles naturally.
Yes, of course. Its often said that to gain muscles, non-vegetarians get more protein, As in Chicken Breast, Egg White & Fish are full of proteins. So with these food items non-vegetarians get proteins to gain muscles.
Now the point over here is, how do vegetarians get proteins ?
So today I'll tell you about some food items , herbs for growth of your muscles.
First herb would be Ashwagandha Powder & Second would be shatavari powder.These both are easily available ,
if you'll mix 1-1 tsp each in milk  will consume them 1-2 times in a day
Then along with the growth of your muscles, you'll feel more energies & your immune system will be stronger.

So you must use these 2 herbs.

Now let's talk about how to suffice the demand of protein for a vegetarian.
There is a easiest method, take all the pulses and make their sprouts. Take Chickpea, Green Gram or whatever pulse you like. Soak them in water for 24 hours. Then hang them in a wet cloths, they'll be sprouted. Lightly boil these sprouted pulses or slightly fry them with garlic and onions.

I'm not recommending them to eat raw as they can create gastric or gas problem. If you do quite heavy workout then you can eat it raw as well But if you don't have heavy workout then boil it lightly
And if you'll consume these mixed sprouts in breakfast  Then you'll get the similar amount of protein just like a non veterinarian.

There is one more very amazing food item i .e  Tofu means Soya Paneer, This is the best source of protein for vegetarians. Use this, you can make it in variations in veggies. The way you cook Cottage Cheese, similarly if you cook and eat Tofu. Then too you'll get sufficient amount of protein. Use Soya Milk, If you drink 1 Cup of soya milk in 2-3 times in a day. Then too you'll not have the deficiency of protein. Along with use all Dairy Products. Take Curd as it is one of the finest source of protein.
It also contains calcium  vitamin D.
Take Milk, Cottage Cheese in your food items as this is also the finest source of protein for vegetarians. Take Peanut Butter, Peanuts( you can eat them like that)
And take this in your breakfast, then too you'll get sufficient amount of protein. Take all types of beans in the lunch

You can take Red Kidney Beans, Bengal Gram, Chick peas, Black Eyed Beans Or if you want you can mix them and prepare their dish and can have it in the lunch. This way also you'll get sufficient amount of protein. Similarly if you consume every type of Nuts/Dry fruits, you'll get ample of protein. You can take Almond, Walnut, Little bit of Cashew nuts, Seeds are also full of proteins. You can take Flax Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Take 1-1 tsp of all these seeds, mix them,  roast them and make their powder. If you'll take 1 tsp of this powder along with Milk, then you'll get complete amount of protein. Soak 4 Al minds & 4 Walnuts in water for overnight. Next morning thoroughly chew them, this way also you'll not have the deficiency of protein. Similarly you can take Cheese, take 1 Cheese Slice daily. As it also has enough amount of protein in it.
Remember this, when you are doing workout post this you have to take high energy food. Just like you can take Banana as its high energy fruit. It gives lasting and instant energy.But remember to not to take too much ripe banana as its sugar content goes very high.

So if you'll eat normal banana post workout then you'll notice much energy in yourself. Sweet Potato is a high energy fruit, which you can use. In case you are bored of eating banana or if its not even available.Then you can use Sweet Potato.

So all the fatty food items are very much harmful for your heart. Specifically the butter which you got in market that&s not at all good for you heart. Due to this you have compromise with your taste & have to kill your desires. If you are suffering from heart disease.I have seen many heart patients who kills their desires and due to this they look quite depress.

So I thought to why not make its healthy option. Which you can make it at home and you can eat it without guilt conscious. Rather you feel proud that you have done something good for your heart.
So let me tell you today how to make Healthy Butter For Heart. This butter is very simple to make, you can make it at home only. Let me tell you its ingredients:- 50 gm Walnuts.50 gm Almonds, 50 gm Flax Seeds and little bit of Black Salt. If you want you can add Black Pepper Powder to enhance your taste. We'll also use Extra Virgin Olive Oil in it. 

Firstly we have to dry roast all these ingredients on very low flame. So that their oil and fat get release. Firstly take a pan and put 50 gm Flax seeds in it. We have to dry roast it a little. So that it can release its good fat. On the low flame we will roast it and now we'll add 50 gm Almonds
Now we'll add equal quantity of Walnuts in it. Walnuts are full of Omega 3 Fatty Acid which is good for your heart. It has one more advantage as its very good for thyroid, people who suffers from it.
So this butter is not only good for heart but even thyroid patients can also have it without any tension. As you can see Flax Seeds are getting crackles, so we have to stir it quickly. Will roast them for another 30 seconds. Just dry roast them lightly not to burnt them. Now they are roast, now you have to stir them continuously for some time even after turning the flame off. If you will stop stirring them after turning the flame off, then it might get burnt. And we dont have to burnt it so stir it continuously even after turning the flame off.
After that let it cool down, Once its cool down, we will add Extra Virgin Olive Oil & little bit of Black Salt.
Now all the ingredients are completely cool down, we'll grind them now. Here the all goes into grinder .Remember, initially dry grind it and later on add Olive Oil .If you'll grind it with Olive Oil then some whole pieces might left but to make butter we need a smooth consistency. Hence initially we'll grind it and make it into powder form & then we will add Black Salt & Olive Oil.
When you'll grind it, it will release its oil. as you can see here. The consistency is not exactly powdery but its has some oil in it .
If you will press it, you will see the proper oil which is the most healthy oil.
Now we will add little bit of Black Salt. Now we have to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil in it . Make sure you use Extra Virgin Olive Oil only, as its a juice of Olive.
And that is a good fat.
Hence we'll use it so that all of its nutritious facts will be in this butter.
Now we shall put almost 2-3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil in it. We will grind it once again.
Since it has not come to smooth consistency, hence we have to add more Olive Oil in it. As you can see, Healthy Butter is absolutely ready, let;s take it out. So here you have Healthy Butter ready.
Make it at home & use it without any tension. Also you will find it different in the taste.
So you can use it with your breakfast or any meal.
You can have it anytime, without any tension of your heart.
You can consume it even if you are suffering from thyroid.

how to slution of yellow white nails Tips

In the previous article we were talking about yellowness of nails.
And I've told you that its important to take care of your eating habits.If you want to cure yellowness of nails then you must consume dairy products.
Take balance diet, in which consumption of dairy products are very much necessary. Take Milk, Curd, Butter Milk.
Along with this you must take high protein rich food just like grains. Take unpolished pulses also must use fresh fruits and vegetables of the season.
It means your diet contains dairy product, pulses, if you are not eating pulses then you can take
Kidney beans, Chick peas,Bengal Gram etc.
In whole grain take chapati of wheat flour Don't get wheat flour very smooth, it should be coarsely so that its fibre doesn't get wasted.
Take this type of diet, along with take Raw Salad, Take fresh green leafy vegetables also. So try to make your diet in this balanced way
Then you'll not suffer from yellow nails.
I would name Baking Soda as an easiest remedy which is easily available at every home. Take 1 tsp Baking Soda & 1-1/2 Olive Oil & 1 tsp Lemon Juice.

Make a thick paste & apply this on your nails, Leave it for 5 mins, take a soft brush and rub and clean your nails with it.After that wash them off with lukewarm water and apply moisturiser. 
Do this remedy for 10-15 days & yellowness of your nails will be cured. Let me tell you an another remedy
Remember that your nails and teeth are same. They both are bones. The way you clean your teeth similarly you can clean your yellow nails.
Take whitening toothpaste and apply them on your nails.
Leave it for 5 mins & gently brush your nails.
After that dip a cotton in lukewarm water to clean your nails.
If you'll follow this remedy, then even with the whitening toothpaste cures yellowness of your nails.
Using Mouthwash also helps to cure yellowness of nails.
Dip your fingers for 20 mins in direct mouthwash.
Sometimes it changes the colours of the side skin of your nails but it get recovered within few days.
There is an another method, take equal quantity of Vinegar & Mouth wash.
Dip your fingers in it for 10-15 mins
Later on was it off with lukewarm water and apply any moisturiser as well.
Within few days colours of your nails will be changed.
Stop smoking and stop taking such items which dehydrate your body just like Cold Drinks.
It also takes away the calcium from your body.
Due to calcium deficiency your nails become thin & get cracked  and broken very easily.
Hence what all remedies i have shared, follow them.
Even if using these remedies, the yellowness of your nails is not getting cured.
Then you must consult any Dr and get your liver checked.

How to slution of yellow nails naturally


Many people's nails are very yellow & they's asking for remedies to get rid of it.Firstly + we should understand the reason behind yellow nails.There are many reason behind this. But the most important reason is Nail Polish. Specifically dark coloured Nail polish contains such ingredients Using them for long run is the reason behind your yellow nails. Due to fungal infection also your nails can be yellow. Also due to improper and non-nutritious food is the reason behind yellow nails. That means if you are not taking balanced diet, that can be the reason behind yellow nails. But you should not take this problem lightly Because if your nails are becoming yellow without any reason, that indicating towards chronic lever disease. So you must consult with doctor if your nails are getting yellow without any reason. Too much of smoking can be the reason behind yellow nails but need not to worry! We have to use all the natural bleaching products around us to get rid of yellow nails.
So as a natural bleach, firstly i'll name Lemon Juice. Let me tell you, how to use this Take half bowl of lemon juice.
Dip your nails in this lemon juice. Dip them for 15 mins and also rub and clean your nails with the help of a brush. Thoroughly and gently clean your rub the nails of your both hands finger. After that wash it off with lukewarm water. Do apply any soft moisturiser on your hands as sometimes you nails get dehydrated. Do this remedy twice a day and follow this for 15 days. Yellowness of your nails will be cured.As a second remedy I'll name Apple Cider Vinegar, This is very good for your nails as it contains malic acid and acetic acid along with anti-fungal properties. If your nails are getting yellow due to fungal infection. Then it will cure them and also it will works as a natural bleach. It also increases the growth of the nails.
Let me tell you, how to use this. Take Apple Cider Vinegar & Luke Warm Water in equal quantity. As i said earlier, dip your fingers in it for about 10-15 mins. Gently rub with brush and wash them off with lukewarm water & apply moisturiser. Within 10-15 days yellowness of your nails will be vanished. Along with this let me tell you an another remedy. Take Orange Peel And rub it on your yellow nails.
If you'll rub for 5-10 mins, it will cure the yellowness of your nails as it contains lots of vitamin C in it. It also works as a natural bleach, so its enable to cure the problem of discolouration.
Now Orange Peel is a seasonal . For this you can dry orange peel and make its powder and preserve it. Orange Peel Powder is also very easily available in the market.

So when orange is not in season then take this orange peel powder & make its paste with lukewarm water. Apply this paste over y our nails and let it get dry. Once its dry well then wash it off with lukewarm water and apply moisturiser. Do this remedy twice a day and follow this for 15-20 days.
then the yellowness of your nails will be vanished. Its very important to take care of your eating habits. As due to deficiency of nutrients also nails become yellow.

Health Story! Impotant and interesting topic about middle age girls

This is a story about three friends who are going to learn about an important and interesting topic with you today!
So open your mind and keep your eyes alert!
Come, let’s meet Pinky. She turns nine today. Her friends Jiya,Meera, and Priya didi who is a doctor are celebrating her birthday at home. Just then, Meera notices Priya’s childhood pictures that were hung on the wall.
Wow, Priya didi!

You looked just like Pinky when you were younger!
Haha! Yes Meera, you are right!
The journey of growing up from a little girl to a young woman is very exciting.

Really?!

Hmm… Didi, how do we grow?

Meera, we grow because of the pituitary gland.
Pituitary gland! What is that?

Pituitary gland is a pea-sized gland located near the lower portion of the brain.When it is time for your body to grow, the pituitary gland releases special chemicals in your body called hormones.
These hormones help the various organs in your body to mature,because of which you experience various physical and emotional changes.

What kinds of changes, didi?


Lots of changes!


For example, your height increases and so does your weight.Your breasts begin to grow.Your hips widen.
Oh, and hair begins to grow in your under arms and around your genitals.
Along with these changes, sometimes,
you might notice white mucus like secretion from your vagina.This is called vaginal discharge.This is absolutely normal.
There’s nothing to worry about!

Didi, vagina is the same place from where we urinate, right?

No Pinky!


Vagina is different.
Let me explain in detail.
There are three openings between our legs.The topmost opening is the urethra.This is where the urine comes out from.Below that is the vagina.This opening is slightly bigger than the urethra.Babies are born through the vaginal opening!
And the anus is located at the very end.Feces is expelled from this opening.

Boys gain height rapidly, hair starts growing on their chest and around the pubic area, their voice deepens and beard grows on their faces! Boys and girls, both undergo changes when they grow up.

Now tell me, what does our body need in order to grow healthily?

Milk and green vegetables.
Fruits too!
We must also exercise!

Our body needs a variety of nutrients to grow properly. If we include fruits,vegetables, and grains of various colours in our food intake,
these nutritional needs are easily met!
One such essential nutrient is Iron.

Iron is required for the circulation of oxygen in our blood. A deficiency in iron causes anemia, which can make you feel weak and tired even after taking rest.

Oh! But where do we get iron from, Didi?

We can get iron from peas,spinach,potatoes,pulses,dry fruits and fish!
 And if iron is consumed with food rich in Vitamin-C, then our body absorbs iron in larger quantities!
You can get Vitamin-C from fruits like amla,orange,lemon and mango!

Yay! Mango is my favourite fruit.
All this talk about food is making me hungry, Didi!

Yes, Pinky! Let’s go and eat hot, fresh food!

What have we learned so far?

While eating food, Jiya had a feeling of wetness in her underwear. She went to the bathroom immediately. As soon as she reached the bathroom and checked her underwear, she was shocked! There was blood on it!
This had never happened to her before!
She could not understand why. But Priya didi knew everything.
Don’t worry, Jiya.

You just got your first period. It is natural and happens to all girls and women. Take this sanitary pad!

It will absorb all the blood so that your clothes don’t get spoilt!

There must be lots of questions cropping up in your head right now?

So many questions! Hang on!
I will answer all your questions one-by-one. Every month during periods, a small amount of blood flows out of our vagina for three to seven days. The blood flow is heaviest on the first day and it gradually lessens over the next few days.
Usually, girls start getting their periods when they turn around 10-15 years of age.
But didi, why do we get periods?

Periods is a very important process, Pinky, because of which we are alive today. If you wish to have babies in the future, your body needs to start preparing for it from now itself. Periods are the result of that preparation.

Okay, now tell me something.

Do you know where babies are formed in the body?
In the stomach!

No, no! In the uterus.

Exactly, Meera!


The uterus is in the lower portion of our abdomen. While growing up, after a certain age, our uterus starts preparing itself for the child that you might bear in the future. For this, a new layer of soft tissues and blood is formed on the inner surface of the uterus every month. This layer is important for the nourishment of the baby. But as long as you are not pregnant, your uterus does not need the layer of blood and tissue.
So this layer is discharged through the vagina every month in the form of blood. This is what is known as periods.
 Ohh! Now I understand why we bleed during periods!

But didi, is this loss of blood harmful for us?
 Not at all, Meera!
In fact, periods indicate that you are healthy, and that your body is developing healthily. What have we learned so far?
Didi, I have understood why do we get periods, but is there a way to know when will we  get our next period?
Yes, there is, Jiya!
Every girl gets her periods at regular intervals of time. The length of this interval is the length of the menstrual cycle.
Let me explain with an example.
If your periods began from 10 January, and the next time they arrive on 7 February, then the length of your menstrual cycle is from 10th January to 6th February, which is a total of 28 days. This means that your menstrual cycle is 28 days long.

So it is likely that you will get your periods after every 28 days. But remember, the duration of the menstrual cycle is different for every girl. Brilliant! This way, I can calculate when I'll get my next period, This is very helpful, Didi! Now I can stay prepared for my next periods. Yes Jiya, but remember, you have just started getting your periods. Your body will take some time to adjust to these changes. So for the first one or two years, your periods might be irregular.
If for any reason your periods continue for more than ten days, or the bleeding is so much that you need to change your pad every hour, or if you find large clots of blood coming out, then you must consult a doctor immediately!
Didi, I am having a stomach ache.
What should I do?
Jiya, many girls experience pain or cramps in the lower abdomen during their periods. The uterus contracts to squeeze blood out of the vagina, which might be a bit painful for some girls. It is completely normal and there is no need to panic.
Due to the changes that happen in the body during periods, some girls might also get pimples on their face, suffer from headaches, or have mood swings.
Let me give you some tips to deal with these problems. Everyday, go for a brisk walk for atleast 30 minutes. Get your body into Child pose, Butterfly pose, and Cobra pose and hold each pose for five deep breaths. you can place a hot water bag over your lower abdomen.
Drink lots of water and sleep well.
During your menstrual years, your body needs much more iron. By consuming food rich in iron and Vitamin-C,
you will have much relief from the discomforts of periods. Will we get periods throughout our lives?
No, Meera.
Between 45 to 55 years of age, your periods will stop automatically. This is called menopause.
Does that mean even our mothers get periods?

Until they are 45-55 years old, they'll continue to get periods. I would recommend you all should talk to your mothers about periods.
Because, often the experience of periods for girls is similar to their mother's experiences.

But, what is a sanitary pad?

Sanitary pad is used to absorb the blood that comes out during periods. It is a long, thin pad, which is worn between the underwear and the genitals in such a manner that its absorbent middle part exactly covers the opening of the vagina.  This way it can easily absorb the blood coming out

and prevents it from staining your underwear. It is important to remember a few things while using sanitary pads. You must wash your hands clean before and after using a sanitary pad.

Change your pads at least every six hours or more often if needed.

Didi, where do you get these sanitary pads?

Sanitary pads are easily available in convenience stores near your house.You can also ask for one from elders in your house, or your friends.If you are using it for the first time, remember to read the instructions given on the packet. If you still face problems, you can take help from your mother or sister. Didi, what should we do with the pad after using it? Can we wash it and use it again?

Most pads available in the market can be used only once. Used pads should be wrapped in a waste paper or an old newspaper, put it in a dustbin and it should be covered with a lid. Disposing it this way prevents foul smell and the spread of diseases. And don’t forget to wash your hands clean with soap after you dispose off your pads!
Didi, didi! Do you know?
This one time, our school toilet had to be shut down because it got flooded with sewage water!

When the plumber checked the pipe,

He found so many used pads stuck in there.
Oh!

See, this is why you should never flush pads in the toilet. Because it can easily clog the drainage system and lead to flooding of the toilet. Just imagine how much trouble this could cause!

If we get periods in school, what should we do? Can we take a holiday?

No, Pinky. There is no need to skip school. You can ask a lady teachers or school nurse for a pad. Although there is nothing to feel shy about asking for a pad but if you are too shy about it, you can write on a piece of paper and give it. Your friends could have pads too! You can ask them as well.
Ever since I started getting periods, I made sure that I always carry one sanitary pad in my school bag. So that, even if I got my periods in school, I would be able to wear a pad in my underwear and immediately return to class.
Didi, if I am not able to buy a sanitary pad for some reason,
what can I do?

Jiya, you can make a sanitary pad at home as well. Take a clean cotton cloth and fold it twice lengthwise, and make it into a long rectangular pad. Place it in your underwear and use it like a regular sanitary pad. This cloth pad can be used two to three times But before every use, remember to wash it with clean, cold water, and dry it in sunlight before using it again. The sun rays are effective in killing germs. You must have already understood by now, how important it is to maintain hygiene during periods

But Didi
If it is so important to maintain hygiene during periods, then why are we prohibited from taking a shower during periods?

Meera, this is a misconception. In fact it is very important to take shower during periods. Let me give you some tips on maintaining hygiene during periods. Take a shower at least once everyday during periods Wear washed and clean bras, under wears and other undergarments and change them everyday. Change your pads at regular intervals. Wash your hands clean, before and after using a pad.
After using the toilet, wash your groin area with water and keep it dry

Remember!

Never use soap or deodorant in the vagina, because the vagina keeps itself clean and balanced on its own. As long as you keep yourself clean, you will remain healthy.

Didi, if we maintain cleanliness during our periods, then we will not be considered impure anymore, right?
Meera, there is nothing pure or impure about periods. Periods are in fact, a natural process that indicates that our body is healthy!
